Why we built Vocabry
Students shouldn’t relearn the same words every month
Vocabry is curriculum-mapped vocabulary and pronunciation software for language institutes. It maps an institute’s own textbook into spaced-repetition flashcards and syllable-level pronunciation coaching, so student self-study reinforces the lesson taught in class.

The problem
Why didn’t the existing apps solve this?
Vocabry began in a Dutch classroom, from the student side. Each class ended with a vocabulary list to memorise before the next session: learn it, come back a week later, get handed a new one. The institute kept moving forward and retention kept resetting to zero.
Strong verbs were worse: Dutch irregulars have no pattern to reason through. The available apps taught their own word lists on their own schedule, so a student could hold a streak for months and still walk into class unprepared for that week’s lesson.

What we built
It starts from the syllabus, not from us
Every word, example sentence and lesson comes from the institute’s own textbook, in the order it’s taught. Spaced repetition keeps older lessons alive while new ones are added, using an SM-2 schedule that brings a word back right before it would otherwise be forgotten. Dutch runs A1 through B2; German, French and Spanish use the same engine, built from whatever source material the institute teaches from.

The pilot
Ten classmates, one syllabus
The first pilot ran with 10 of my own classmates at a private Dutch institute teaching A1 through B2. Small on purpose: enough to see whether curriculum-mapped review changed what students retained between lessons, few enough to talk to each of them.
An earlier round of feedback from friends and family shaped the product before it reached that classroom. The reviews on our homepage came from that group.

Who’s behind it
I built the tool I needed as a student.
Vocabry is built by R.A.D Labs, a studio in Chennai, India working across search and performance marketing, content, and custom agentic workflow builds. R.A.D stands for Reach, Automate, Deliver, and Vocabry is the first product we have put our own name on: reach students inside the curriculum their institute already teaches, automate the spaced repetition so retention is not left to willpower, and deliver software a language school can use in class the same term it signs up.

What is Vocabry?

How is it different from consumer language apps?
Consumer apps teach their own word lists on their own schedule. Vocabry teaches the institute’s syllabus, in the order it’s taught, so self-study lines up with the next class.
Which languages and levels are available?
Dutch A1–B2 is live. German is next; French and Spanish are in development on the same engine.
Who built Vocabry?
Mukul Santhosh, founder of R.A.D Labs. He was a student in the Dutch class the product came from and still runs product and institute rollouts directly.
